Introduction:

Govt Nursing college Udhampur started with the aim to produce the competent nurses with clear critical thinking skills who are caring, motivated, well disciplined, and responsive to the changing needs of the profession, healthcare delivery system, and society. The institute is located in the village Bailey of Distt. Udhampur approximately ten kilometers away from Udhampur city. The college is surrounded by lush green trees which are a source of fresh air and a healthy environment.

History:

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, sanctioned the upgradation of Schools of Nursing under the centrally sector scheme 'Development of Nursing Services,' and Government GNM School Udhampur was upgraded into Nursing College Udhampur in 2020. The college admitted the first batch of BSc Nursing in 2021. The college offers a four-year BSc Nursing Degree Course along with previously running nursing and paramedical courses in various streams.

General Information:

The college is affiliated with the University of Jammu and is offering a four-year BSc Nursing course. The clinical training of the students is provided at District Hospital Udhampur with 24x7 emergency services, and community training at different rural and urban centers under the Government Medical College Udhampur. The institute was started with an intake capacity of sixty students annually. Presently, the number of seats has been increased to seventy students annually.

Fee Structure:

Fee structure is as per Govt norms of Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical education Department.

Management:

The college is under the administrative control of Govt. Medical college Udhampur.

Examinations:

Examinations are conducted as Jammu university notifications from time to time.

Events:

Celebration of National health days,festivals, poster making and other competitions are conducted from time to time.
